Frequently Asked Questions
What is Utkarsh Nematoz-P?

Utkarsh Nematoz-P is a powder-based biocontrol formulation containing Verticillium chlamydosporium (1 × 10⁸ CFU/gm). It is used as a bio-nematicide, effective against plant-parasitic nematodes such as root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.), cyst nematodes, and lesion nematodes.

How does Verticillium chlamydosporium in Nematoz-P work?

  • Colonizes the rhizosphere (root zone) of plants.
  • Produces enzymes (like chitinases, proteases) that degrade nematode eggshells.
  • Parasitizes nematode eggs and prevents hatching.
  • Reduces nematode population density in soil over time.
  • Induces systemic resistance in plants, making them stronger against nematode attacks.

What crop problems does Nematoz-P solve?

Nematoz-P is highly effective against:

  • Root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) – common in vegetables like tomato, brinjal, okra, cucurbits.
  • Cyst nematodes – in cereals and potatoes.
  • Reniform & lesion nematodes – in cotton, banana, pulses, and horticultural crops.

General nematode stress symptoms:

  • Stunted growth
  • Yellowing leaves despite fertilization
  • Root galling / knotting
  • Wilting even with good water supply

Can it be used with other Utkarsh products?

Yes ✅ Nematoz-P is compatible with:

  • Biofertilizers: Utkarsh Microbes, Microbes DG, Vamoz (mycorrhiza)
  • Biopesticides: Utkarsh Trichoz-P (Trichoderma viride), Sudoz-P (Pseudomonas fluorescens)
  • Organic soil enhancers: Huminoz-98, seaweed extracts, compost, organic manures

❌ Avoid mixing directly with chemical nematicides or fungicides; give a 4–5 day gap.

What crops benefit the most from Nematoz-P?

Widely used in:

  • Vegetables: Tomato, brinjal, okra, cucumber, gourds, chillies
  • Fruits: Banana, citrus, pomegranate, papaya
  • Field crops: Cotton, pulses, cereals, potato
  • Plantation crops: Tea, coffee, arecanut
  • Ornamentals & nurseries: Roses, orchids, lawns, seedlings

When should Nematoz-P be applied for best results?

  • At nursery stage to protect seedlings.
  • During early crop establishment to suppress nematode buildup.
  • In perennial crops at the start of the growing season.
  • Can also be used as a preventive soil treatment in nematode-prone areas.
