Targeted Action:

Utkarsh Fall Army Worm is intended for use as an attractant of Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) adult moths in maize, sugar cane and jowar Plantations/ Orchards/ Farms, in order to trap them for monitoring and mass trapping. This is found to reduce the intensity of pest incidence, leading to a reduction in crop damage thereby improving the yields/output quality.

Product Description:
The Active Ingredient blend of Z-7 Dodecenyl acetate, Z-9 Tetradecenyl acetate & Z-11 Hexadecenyl aceate is a potent attractant for males of Spodoptera frugiperda. This liquid formulation @ 3 mg is loaded in silicon rubber septa / PE vials which are placed in traps in the field.

Application Protocol:

  • Place the Lure/Dispenser in the funnel /sleeve trap or moth trap and place the trap at various locations in the field just above the canopy level of the crop.
  • Recommended to use one lure of Utkarsh Fall Army Worm per trap. One Utkarsh Fall Army Worm lure would last up to 30-45 days depending upon climatic conditions.
  • The trapping density should be adequate to manage pest infestation. The recommended trap density is 40-50 traps per hectare for mass trapping and 8-10 traps per hectare for monitoring.
