Utkarsh Egg Plant Borer is intended for use as an attractant of Eggplant fruit and shoot borer (Leucinodes orbonalis) in Brinjal/eggplant Farms, in order to trap them for monitoring and mass trapping. This is found to reduce the intensity of pest incidence, leading to a reduction in crop damage thereby improving the yields/output quality.
The Active Ingredient blend of E-11-hexadecenyl acetate & E-11-hexadecenol is a potent attractant for males of Leucinodes orbonalis. This liquid formulation @ 3 mg is loaded in rubber septa, which is placed in water/PheroGlo/Funnel sleeve traps in the field.
- Place the Lure/Dispenser in the funnel /sleeve trap or water trap or PheroGlo trap and place the trap at various locations in the field just above the canopy level of the crop.
- Recommended to use one lure of Leucinodes orbonalis per trap.
- One Utkarsh Diamond Back Moth lure would last up to 30-45 days depending upon climatic conditions.
- The trapping density should be adequate to manage pest infestation. The recommended trap density is 40-50 traps per hectare for mass trapping and 8-10 traps per hectare for monitoring.
