Product Description:
Utkarsh 523 Yard Long Beans Seeds produce vigorous climbing plants with long, tender green bean pods. Ideal for home gardens, kitchen gardens, terraces, and grow bags, this variety performs well in warm Indian conditions. With adequate sunlight, moisture, nutrition, and sturdy support, it can provide a regular harvest of fresh, homegrown beans.
Key Features:
- Packet contains: Utkarsh 523 Variety Yard Long Beans 1-Pack Seeds (25gm). (Raw, Traditional Seeds, Non-Hybrid, 100% Pure & Desi Strain, Locally Adapted, and GMO-Free)
- Season of sowing: February to April and June to August; best suited to warm and moderately humid conditions.
- Mode of sowing: Direct sowing is recommended. Sow seeds about 2–3 cm deep directly in the soil, raised beds or large grow bags. Provide a sturdy trellis or support for the climbing vines.
- Germination time: 5–10 days.
- Sunlight: 6–8 hours of direct sunlight per day.
- Soil Type: Fertile, loose and well-drained loamy or sandy-loam soil enriched with organic matter. Avoid heavy and waterlogged soil.
- Watering: Water regularly and moderately to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during flowering and pod development.
- Harvesting: Approximately 50–70 days after sowing, depending on growing conditions. Harvest the pods when they are young, tender and green, before they become fibrous. Regular harvesting encourages continued production.
- Blooming Period: Generally begins around 5–7 weeks after sowing, followed by repeated flowering and long-pod formation.
- Planting Period: February to April and June to August.
- Expected Plant Height: Approximately 1.5–3 metres or more when grown with proper climbing support.
- Growing Location: Outdoor kitchen gardens, home gardens, raised beds, terraces, large grow bags and gardens with trellis support.
- Suitable For: Home gardening, kitchen gardens, terrace gardening, container gardening and gardeners with sufficient space for climbing vines.
- Watering: Maintain consistent soil moisture during active growth, flowering and pod development. Water at the base of the plant and avoid excessive watering or stagnant water.
- Care Instructions: Provide 6–8 hours of sunlight and install a sturdy trellis or support for the climbing vines. Use fertile soil enriched with compost or well-decomposed organic manure. Guide the vines onto the support as they grow, remove weeds regularly and maintain even moisture. Harvest long beans frequently while they are young and tender to encourage continuous pod production.
