Product Description:
Utkarsh 771 Black Sesame Seeds produce healthy sesame plants with dark, nutritious seeds suitable for culinary use. Well-suited to warm Indian conditions, sesame is a relatively low-water crop that performs well in well-drained soil. With adequate sunlight, proper spacing, and timely care, it can provide a rewarding homegrown harvest.
Key Features:
- Packet contains: Utkarsh 771 Variety Black Sesame 1-Pack (Approx. 2000 Seeds). (Raw, Traditional Seeds, Non-Hybrid, 100% Pure & Desi Strain, Locally Adapted, and GMO-Free)
- Season of sowing: June–July, preferably with the onset of the monsoon. Suitable for warm Indian conditions.
- Mode of sowing: Direct sowing. Sow the small seeds approximately 1–2 cm deep in well-prepared soil. It can be grown in rows, raised beds or suitable open areas.

- Watering: Water lightly and regularly during germination and early growth. Sesame is relatively drought-tolerant once established but requires adequate moisture during flowering and capsule development.
- Harvesting: Approximately 80–100 days after sowing. Harvest when the lower capsules begin to mature and turn yellowish/brown, before excessive capsule opening causes seed loss.
- Blooming Period: Generally begins around 5–7 weeks after sowing, followed by capsule and seed development.
- Planting Period: June–July, depending on monsoon conditions and local climate.
- Expected Plant Height: Approximately 60–120 cm, depending on growing conditions.
- Growing Location: Outdoor farms, open fields, kitchen gardens, home gardens and large raised beds.
- Suitable For: Farmers, home gardeners, kitchen gardens, small-scale growers and those interested in growing traditional oilseed crops.
- Watering: Maintain moderate moisture during germination and flowering. Once established, avoid excessive irrigation and allow the soil to drain properly. Additional watering may be required during prolonged dry periods.
- Care Instructions: Provide 6–8 hours of sunlight, use well-drained fertile soil and maintain proper plant spacing. Remove weeds regularly, especially during the early growth stage. Avoid overwatering and waterlogging. Monitor the capsules as they mature and harvest at the right stage to reduce seed loss from premature capsule opening.
