Product Description:
Utkarsh 561 Musk Melon Seeds produce vigorous vines with sweet, juicy and aromatic musk melons. Ideal for home gardens, kitchen gardens, terraces, and large grow bags, this variety performs well in warm Indian conditions. With adequate sunlight, well-drained soil, proper watering, and sufficient space for vines to spread, you can enjoy a fresh homegrown harvest.
Key Features:
- Packet contains: Utkarsh 561 Variety Musk Melon 1-Pack Seeds (4gm). (Raw, Traditional Seeds, Non-Hybrid, 100% Pure & Desi Strain, Locally Adapted, and GMO-Free)
- Season of sowing: February–April and June–July, depending on the local climate. Warm temperatures are ideal for healthy growth and fruit development.
- Mode of sowing: Direct sowing. Sow seeds about 2–3 cm deep directly in well-prepared soil, raised beds or large grow bags. Avoid transplanting where possible.
- Germination time: Approximately 4–8 days under suitable warmth and moisture.
- Sunlight: 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
- Soil Type: Fertile, loose and well-drained sandy-loam or loamy soil enriched with organic matter. Good drainage is essential.
- Watering: Water regularly and moderately during germination and early growth. Maintain consistent moisture during flowering and fruit development without causing waterlogging.
- Harvesting: Approximately 70–90 days after sowing, depending on growing conditions. Harvest when the fruits develop their characteristic aroma, colour and mature appearance and begin to separate naturally from the vine.
- Blooming Period: Generally begins around 4–6 weeks after sowing, followed by repeated flowering and fruit development.
- Planting Period: February–April and June–July, depending on temperature and local growing conditions.
- Expected Plant Height: Approximately 30–60 cm in height, with vines spreading 1.5–3 m or more along the ground or support.
- Growing Location: Outdoor kitchen gardens, home gardens, raised beds, open garden spaces, terraces and large grow bags.
- Suitable For: Home gardeners, kitchen gardens, terrace gardens, container gardening and growers with sufficient space for spreading vines.
- Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist during flowering and fruit development. Water at the base of the plant and gradually reduce excessive watering as fruits approach maturity to support better fruit quality.
- Care Instructions: Provide 6–8 hours of sunlight, use fertile well-drained soil, and add compost or well-decomposed organic manure. Give the vines sufficient space to spread, remove weeds regularly, and avoid waterlogging. Support the developing fruits if growing vertically. Monitor flowering and fruit development, and harvest mature fruits at the appropriate stage.
