They develop quickly and can be grown in trays with minimal space, making them suitable for beginners as well as experienced gardeners. Harvest fresh mustard microgreens within a short growing period for salads, sandwiches, garnishes, and other dishes.
- Key Features:
- Packet contains: Utkarsh 792 Variety Mustard Microgreen 1-Pack Seeds (50gm). (Raw, Traditional Seeds, Non-Hybrid, 100% Pure & Desi Strain, Locally Adapted, and GMO-Free).
- Season of sowing: Year-round. Mustard microgreens can be grown indoors or outdoors when suitable temperature and ventilation are available.
- Mode of sowing: Direct sowing on a moist cocopeat, cocopeat-based microgreen medium, soil or other clean, well-drained growing medium. Spread seeds evenly over the surface and lightly cover them with the growing medium.
- Germination time: Approximately 2–5 days under suitable temperature and moisture conditions.
- Sunlight: 4–6 hours of gentle sunlight or bright indirect light daily. Avoid intense afternoon sunlight, especially during hot weather.
- Soil Type: Clean, lightweight and well-drained growing medium such as cocopeat or a suitable microgreen mix. The medium should retain moisture without becoming waterlogged.
- Watering: Keep the growing medium consistently moist but not soggy. Gentle watering or bottom watering is recommended to avoid disturbing the delicate seedlings.
- Harvesting: Approximately 7–14 days after sowing, generally when the seedlings have developed their first pair of true leaves or are at the preferred microgreen stage. Cut just above the growing medium and consume fresh.
- Blooming Period: Not applicable for microgreen production, as the plants are harvested young before flowering.
- Planting Period: Year-round under suitable indoor or outdoor conditions.
- Expected Plant Height: Approximately 5–10 cm at the usual microgreen harvesting stage.
- Growing Location: Indoor kitchens, balconies, windowsills, terraces, home gardens, shelves and other clean areas with adequate light and ventilation.
- Suitable For: Home gardeners, kitchen gardening, beginners, health-conscious consumers and anyone interested in growing fresh microgreens at home.
- Watering: Provide light and regular moisture. Keep the medium evenly moist throughout germination and growth, while avoiding standing water and excessive humidity.
- Care Instructions: Use clean seeds and a clean growing medium. Provide good ventilation and adequate light after germination. Avoid overwatering and overcrowding. Keep the growing area clean and harvest with clean scissors or a knife when the microgreens reach the desired size. For best freshness, harvest just before consumption.
