Targeted Action:

Utkarsh Rice Yellow Stem Borer is intended for use as an attractant of Yellow Stem Borer (Scirpophaga incertulas) in Rice Farms, in order to trap them for monitoring and mass trapping. This is found to reduce the intensity of pest incidence, leading to a reduction in crop damage thereby improving the yields/output.

Product Description:
The Active Ingredient blend of Z-11-Hexadecenal acetate & Z-9-Hexadecenal acetate is a potent attractant for males of Scirpophaga incertulas. This liquid formulation @ 2 mg is loaded in silicon rubber septa, which are placed in traps in the field.

Application Protocol:

  • Recommended to use one lure of Utkarsh Rice Yellow Stem Borer per trap. Place the Lure/Dispenser in the water trap or funnel/sleeve trap or moth trap and place the trap at various locations in the field just above the canopy level of the crop.
  • One Utkarsh Rice Yellow Stem Borer lure would last upto 30-45 days depending upon climatic conditions.
  • The trapping density should be adequate to manage pest infestation. The recommended trap density is 40-50 traps per hectare for mass trapping and 8-10 traps per hectare for monitoring.
