How to do Turmeric Irrigation

Irrigated crops require 15-20 irrigations in heavy soils and 35-40 irrigations in light soils, depending on soil types. Moisture stress has an impact on the plant’s growth and development, particularly during the rhizome bulking stage.

Harvesting of  Turmeric

The crop can be harvested in seven to nine months, depending on the type. The area is ploughed, and the rhizomes are collected by hand plucking or carefully lifting the clumps with a spade. Mud and other foreign debris adhered to harvested rhizomes are removed. Green turmeric yields 20-25 tonnes per hectare on average.
